The international cooperation within the framework of the ERASMUS programme has existed since year 2001. In November 2001, the School applied to the EU Committee for a College Contract for the 2002/2003 academic year to participate in the following activities: TS, SM, OM as well as ECTS. Thanks to the positive decision of the EU Committee, the University School of Physical Education in Cracow has been participating in the ERASMUS programme since 2002/2003.
The first year of the School’s participation in this programme saw the preparation and development of a system that would be in line with the European Credit Transfer System. This package prepared for the ECTS was translated into English, which was the sine qua non for future exchange programmes. This package includes all fields of studies conducted at the University School of Physical Education in Cracow.
The first educational trip based on the partnership between the University School of Physical Education in Cracow and Universidade do Minho (Portugal) was organised in the 2002/2003 academic year.
The School received the Standard University Charter from the European Committee for the 2007-2013 period. This document gives an opportunity for the School to apply for EU funds with a view to covering the costs connected with the organisation of exchange programmes both for the students and teachers.
The University School of Physical Education in Cracow organised 55 trips within the framework of the ERASMUS programme (39 trips for the students and 16 trips for the teaching and training staff) in the 2012/2013 academic year. The School admitted 28 foreign students from Spain, Portugal, Slovenia as well as Hungary in 2012/2013.
Apart from the ERASMUS programme, the University School of Physical Education in Cracow has regularly sent its students to Gerlev Physical Education and Sports Academy in Denmark within the framework of the CIRRUS programme since the 2007/2008 academic year.
